BACIO Fundraiser: The Perfect Indulgence For The New Year

For the month of January, Mangia E Bevi is featuring a four-course dinner with $5 going to BC Children's

Once guests go home, and the last of the wrapping paper and stray bows are located and recycled, a guilty feeling often starts to creep into our psyche for the overindulgence we promised ourselves we wouldn’t partake in this year.

But before you succumb to that voice in your head urging you to start your new year’s resolution to say no to food, I have to let you in on an amazing dinner deal that will warm the cockles of your soul. Yes, the food is that amazing, but you also are warmed  by knowing that your dinner you are heartily enjoying is supporting your favourite charity.

Starting January 2, Mangia E Bevi in West Vancouver is holding their third annual B.A.C.I.O event. Because A Cure Is Obtainable is a four-course dinner fundraiser inspired by the owners’ personal experience with cancer. In  memory of Daphne Grisdale and in honour of Julia Parrott, for every dinner sold, the restaurant will donate $5 to BC Children’s Hospital’s oncology research programs and $5 to the Lions Gate Hospital Oncology Clinic.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a media launch for this fundraiser a few weeks back and couldn’t stop raving, to anyone who would listen, about the menu. Everything was done to perfection, and I had white truffle for the first time.

But I suggest you don’t take me at my word. Call and book in for one last indulgence that even the voice inside your head can’t deny is a great deal – for you and for BC Children’s Hospital.
